Roberto Martinez's Everton side pulled of a great win at Goodison Park to beat Chelsea and give Jose Mourinho his first loss in his second spell as the Blues' manager.
Paulo Di Canio got sent to the stands after Sunderland were disallowed a goal and eventually lost 3-1 to Arsenal thanks to two goals from Aaron Ramsey.
Wayne Rooney came back from his head injury to score as Manchester United beat Crystal Palace 2-0. Their city rivals Manchester City could only be held to a 0-0 draw with Stoke though.

Mourinho gets second spell off to winning start
Jose Mourinho's Chelsea got to a winning start as they beat recently-promoted Hull 2-0 at Stamford Bridge. Both the goals were scored in the first 25 minutes. Despite missing an early penalty, Frank Lampard scored a 30-yard stunner as he added to Oscar's goal earlier in the game.
Tottenham beat new boys Crystal Palace 1-0, £26m striker Roberto Saldado converting penalty to help his new side win away.
