Arsenal thrash Southampton on busy day in prem

Southampton suffered yet another defeat and Paul Scholes helped Man. United wallop Wigan on a exciting day in the Premier League.

Arsenal showed that they can still be a great team when they want to be, with Gervinho grabbing a brace in a big 6-1 win against the so far pointless Saints.

Scholes showed that he still can be a match-winner in his 700th appearance for Manchester United, scoring the opener in a 4-0 drubbing against Wigan.

Dimitar Berbatov scored twice in a dream home debut for Fulham, while Aston Villa ended Swansea's great start to the season and Raheem Sterling showed his class as the youngster helped Liverpool grab a draw at Sunderland.

Man. United 4-0 Wigan
Fulham 3-0 West Brom
Aston Villa 2-0 Swansea
Sunderland 1-1 Liverpool
