Oscar stars but Chelsea slip to draw

Chelsea failed to get their Champions League defence off to a winning start but had signs of talent in Brazilian Oscar, who scored two in his first starting line-up match against Juventus.

The £25m summer signing from Internacional, 21, scored first with a deflection off Juve player Leonardo Bonucci. However, his second was pure skill, and it left Italian goalie Buffon helpless. But, by the end of the game, the Italian champions had clawed back a point, a 2-2 draw the final result.

Manchester United, however, got off to a winning start, Michael Carrick grabbing a early goal against Galatasaray in a 1-0 win. Scottish champions Celtic drew against Portugese side Benfica 0-0.
