Liverpool don't miss Suarez and desperate day in League 1 & 2

Liverpool barely missed the skills of Luis Suarez as they thrashed Newcastle 6-0.

Daniel Agger, Jordan Henderson (2), Daniel Sturridge (2) and Fabio Borini all got on the score-sheet as Newcastle's relegation worries got larger.

Man City responded to Man United's title win with a 2-1 win over West Ham, while Wigan were denied a amazing victory as an own goal salvaged Tottenham a 2-2 draw.

It was the penultimate day in the Championship and the final day in League One & Two, and there was plenty of drama.

Barnsley handed Watford the possibility of automatic promotion as they beat Hull 2-0. In the Championship, Cardiff have been promoted, while Bristol City have been relegated.

In League One, a final day showdown between Brentford and Doncaster ended in a 1-0 win for Doncaster and they joined Bournemouth in the Championship next season. Bury, Hartlepool, Portsmouth and Scunthorpe all will be playing in the bottom tier of the Football League next season.

In League Two, Gillingham, Port Vale and Rotherham all will be playing in League One next season, while Barnet and Aldershot will be playing in the non-league.

The Premier League results were:
Newcastle 0-6 Liverpool
Southampton 0-3 West Brom
Man City 2-1 West Ham
Everton 1-0 Fulham
Stoke 1-0 Norwich
Wigan 2-2 Tottenham
