Demba Ba grabbed a brace as Newcastle stopped their losing run in a 3-0 win over Wigan.
Wigan were left at ten men when Maynor Figueroa was sent off on 12 minutes, and Ba smashed home the penalty.
The win means Newcastle stay in 14th place, but Wigan slip below Aston Villa into 16th.
