Wins for Reds and Magpies as Chelsea grab United replay

Liverpool climbed up the table with a vital win over Spurs, with Newcastle also beating Stoke.

Goals from Luis Suarez, Stewart Downing and Steven Gerrard sandwiched a Jan Vertonghen brace, with the match finishing 3-2 to the Reds. They now move up to sixth place.

In the earlier game, Papiss Cisse scored a late goal to help Newcastle draw level on points with opponents Stoke in a 2-1 win.

In the FA Cup, there was a all-championship clash as Milwall played Blackburn. The game ended in a 0-0 draw, with the match going to a replay.

In the other game, Manchester United went two ahead of Chelsea after 11 minutes with goals from Javier Hernandez and Wayne Rooney. However, Chelsea massively improved in the second half and Eden Hazard and Ramires forced the replay.

The semi-final draw was also made, they ties being:
Milwall/Blackburn v Wigan
Manchester United/Chelsea v Manchester City

So, there will be a non-top four club in the final. There could be a Manchester derby in the other game.
