Ex-Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has replaced Roberto Di Matteo, who was sacked earlier today, as Chelsea manager until the end of the season.
Benitez, 52, has been out of work since leaving his job as Inter Milan boss after just six months in charge and his appointment may pave the way for former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola to go to Stamford Bridge.
Benitez is, amazingly, Roman Abramovich’s ninth manager in his nine years in charge of Chelsea.
